The Passing Parade - Pgm 19

Here’s another entry in “The Passing Parade”, John Nesbitt’s quarter hour of interesting stories with an ironic twist.

Program 19 looks at two alchemists that tried to create gold from mercury and lead, but wound up discovering something just as significant.

What's a Transcription?

Transcriptions were used from the 1930s through the 1950s to distribute syndicated radio shows to stations. They're 16" discs, usually made of vinyl like modern records, but sometimes pressed of thick, heavy shellac, like a 78. The discs hold a maximum of 15 minutes per side. For playback, they require a special turntable and a wide-groove 78 needle, along with proper equalization for proper reproduction on modern equipment.

The programs presented on this blog appear to have fallen into public domain. I've attempted to ascertain any copyright claims through web searches and other research prior to posting the materials.
