For those of you who may be more interested in the profane, rather than the profound, during this holiday season, I offer up one of the more unusual Armed Forces Radio Service programs I've run into.

Program 100 in the series "GI Journal" is hosted by Herbert Marshall and includes Mel Blanc, the King Sisters and Rags Ragland. What makes the show unusual is that it's a bit more bawdy than most - the topic of the show is burlesque. We even get to hear the tune "Strip Tease Dancer", which was released on some "under the counter" party records at the time. (I have a 78 version by
Larry Vincent and the Pearl Trio.)
Based on logs of the series, it was probably recorded on June 22, 1945. It was transferred from an original AFRS vinyl transcription and comes from the collection of a listener in Plano, Texas.
