The Adventures of Frank Race - Pgm 40

August 7th, 2009

We're approaching the end of our complete run of "The Adventures of Frank Race", the hard-hitting noir insurance detective series starring Paul Dubov and syndicated by Bruce Eells and Associates in the late 40s and early 50s.

Program 40 in the series, "The Adventure of the Kettle Drum", has Race being approached by a former girlfriend, April Ennis, who feels that her husband, a man who has been picked to run for Congress, is in danger of being murdered.  Of course, twists and turns, shadey dames and copious drinking and cigarette smoking ensue.

The show was transferred from an original red vinyl Bruce Eells and Associates transcription set, matrix numbers UR-138016 A-1 and UR-138017 A-1.

There's only a few episodes in the series left, but Race will be taking a hiatus next week on the blog as I put up some special programming.  So, stay tuned...
